Edward D Yoder is a running as a Republican candidate for Macon County Board District 7 in Macon County, Illinois. His focus is on roads, safety, planning, infrastructure, and public input.

Ed's Priorities

I want to serve you on the County Board by providing engineering oversight to our County Highway Department and rein in the ever-increasing tax burden being placed upon us. Our voice is being lost on questionable road projects. For example, the 85th Street Bridge (a.k.a: Dalton City Blacktop, County Highway 57) should be a simple county highway bridge that is replaced in a few months. However, this project has been going on for two years, exceeded $4,000,000 and we still do not have a bridge!

Ed's Proposals for Action

Seek out a resolution:

  • That the Macon County Highway Department provides public site plans, budget, and replacement schedule of a bridge replacement for each bridge closure
  • To add more visible overhead street lights and red/yellow warning lights at busy County/State Highway intersections
  • To request a Federal/State Transportation study to make U.S. Route 36 a four lane highway to the State Route 32 intersection at La Place
  • That the proposed eastern Macon County Beltway will begin as a BRAND NEW exit exchange with I-72
  • That any future new wind farm project approvals will be determined as a public vote referendum
  • To request our local telecommunications providers to expand fiber optic high speed internet access to reach rural Macon County citizens

Ed's Support

  • I support the Workforce Development Program at Richland Community College as a means to train more high school graduates directly into the workforce
  • I support reviewing the proposed Macon County Recycling facility by working with local business leaders and Macon County Economic Development to find an equitable solution for Macon County
  • I support the four lane expansion and grade crossing separation project of Brush College Road
  • I support our veterans and organized labor, for they are the backbone of this great country!
